This brochure provides essential information about your surgery and post surgery treatment plan. Please read carefully.

Key Information

  • Recovery: 1-2 weeks for initial healing

Post-Operative Care

It is vital to follow these instructions for the best outcome.

Do's:

  • Take your eye drops exactly as instructed.
  • Rest and take it easy for the first 24 hours.
  • Wear your eye shield at night for 7 nights to protect the eye while sleeping.
  • Clean your shield every morning with warm, soapy water.
  • Wear sunglasses outside in bright light or on windy days.

Don'ts:

  • Do NOT rub or press your eye hard.
  • Do NOT allow water to enter your operated eye for at least 48 hours.
  • Do NOT swim for 4 weeks.
  • Do NOT wear eye makeup for 2 weeks.
  • Do NOT lift heavy objects, bend forward at the waist, or do strenuous exercise for 2 weeks.
  • Do NOT wash hair forward over a basin for 7 days (use a backwash technique).
  • Do NOT drive if you cannot see adequately (must read a number plate from 20 meters).

When to Call Us

  • Severe pain
  • Sudden vision loss
  • Increasing redness
